I commend the organizers of the workshop for ensuring representation from all participants of the electricity market. The workshop gave a good overview of the Nigerian Electricity Market. The interactive nature of the workshop provided a platform for clarification on gray areas and is highly commended.
The session on “Generation, Nomination, Scheduling and Dispatch” broke down the technical aspects on these issues. It helped the ‘non-engineers’ appreciate better the dynamics affecting generation – dispatch within the industry. The session on Finance and Commercial Equilibrium of the Electricity Market painted a clearer picture of the market economics as applicable to the Nigerian Market. The Q&A session on the last day was on point. It presented a forum for participants of the workshop to get clarification from the panelists on gray areas. On the whole, the workshop was efficiently organised. I would recommend it to anyone with a connection to the industry.
